Dr. Nichtberger is a cardiologist and serial entrepreneur with 25 years of healthcare industry experience focused on developing and commercializing breakthrough medical advances. He is managing partner of GBF Advisors, LLC investing and providing advisory services to healthcare companies, investment funds, and leading academic scientists. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Wharton School, where he leads the Vagelos Life Sciences & Management capstone course on healthcare company formation, financing and leadership.From 2004 – 2011, he was the CEO of Tengion, advancing novel regenerative medicine products from early stage research to late stage clinical trials. During his tenure, the company raised $230MM including an IPO, venture funding, and strategic investments from J&J and Medtronic. Previously, Dr. Nichtberger held senior strategic and operating roles at Merck including as head of global marketing where he was instrumental in several corporate licensing, divestiture, and product acquisition projects. From 1984 until 2006, Dr. Nichtberger founded a profitable, private company that licensed intellectual property in the field of internet-based paperless couponing. In 2008, Dr. Nichtberger was honored with the prestigious National Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Emerging Company Category.

Dr. Guez has more than 30 years of experience in international, high-tech business development, capital raising, intellectual property strategy, strategic partnerships, product development strategy and M&A.Dr. Guez founded and served as CEO and President of several high-tech companies including GraceFall, and Intellirad Systems (now ControlRad). He also served as Vice President of Business Development of MediGuide (acquired by Saint Jude Medical) and Trellis Photonics, and as a member of the Board of Directors of Trestle Holdings.

Dr. Guez is an engineering professor at Drexel University with over 200 publications which include journal and conference articles, book chapters and patents.​​

Mr. Mirabella has more than 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry leading product development, service, marketing, sales and global business teams. Mr. Mirabella joined GE Healthcare in the emerging CT business in 1976 where he held a variety of engineering and product marketing management positions. Mr. Mirabella went on to lead the GE Global Ultrasound, CT and MR Businesses. He was then promoted to Vice President & General Manager – Americas Sales & Marketing and then to President and CEO of the Americas. Mr. Mirabella went on to run a newly formed comprehensive GE Healthcare Services business and then ultimately was promoted to President and CEO of Global Diagnostic Imaging which he held until he retired from GE. He later joined Naviscan, Inc. as an Investor, Chairman and CEO which was sold in November 2013. Mr. Mirabella is currently involved in private equity and healthcare consulting through Paul J. Mirabella Investments and Consulting, LLC.

Mr. Mirabella graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mechanics. While working in the aerospace business for McDonnell Douglas and Martin Marietta, Mr. Mirabella earned a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Central Florida and holds four patents in GE’s CT imaging business.​​

David Shulkin, M.D.

Dr. Shulkin has long been a leader in healthcare management and policy having spent much of his professional career advancing patient safety and quality in healthcare. 

At the Veterans Administration, Dr. Shulkin headed the largest integrated healthcare system in the United States, providing care at 1,250 healthcare facilities, including 172 VA Medical Centers and 1,069 outpatient sites of care.

Previously he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, and as Chief Medical Officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University Hospital, and the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital.

Dr. Shulkin received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed his internship at Yale University School of Medicine. A board-certified internist, Dr. Shulkin is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He also received advanced training in outcomes research and economics as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Simon is an advisor and co-founder of Torreya Partners, a boutique advisory firm that assists life science companies on strategy, business development, licensing, financing alternatives and asset monetizations/divestitures. From 1984 to 2005, Mr. Simon was involved in approximately 175 transactions raising approximately $30 billion for life science companies. From 2002 to 2005, he was a managing director and head of Investment Banking Life Sciences at Citigroup. From 1998 to 2002, he was head of Investment Banking Life Sciences at Robertson Stephens, leading a team that conducted an in-depth pipeline review on 82 pre-POC projects for a major pharmaceutical company. During his Robertson tenure, Mr. Simon raised 45 percent of total biotechnology dollars and managed and co-managed 20 percent of all deals from 1999 to 2001. From 1989 to 1998 at Robertson, Mr. Simon was a senior research analyst covering the biotech industry and was a three-time Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst.

He holds a B.A. from Columbia College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.​​

Dr. Weisman has more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive and physician responsible for the discovery, development, regulatory approval and launch of innovative healthcare products. He is currently Managing Director of And-One Consulting, LLC. advising organizations in formulating and implementing successful strategies for driving healthcare innovations.

Previously, Dr. Weisman served as Chairman and CEO of Coronado Biosciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company developing of novel immunotherapy biologic agents for autoimmune diseases and cancer. Prior, he served over 20 years at Johnson & Johnson in varies roles such as Chief Science and Technology Officer of the Medical Devices and Diagnostics Group, Chairman of the Worldwide R&D Council, Group Chairman of Pharmaceutical R&D, President of J&J PRD and President of Centocor R&D.

Before joining J&J, Dr. Weisman was Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Consultant Cardiologist. He also serves on advisory committees to the Johns Hopkins University Institute for Basic Biomedical Sciences, and BioMotiv, a medical product accelerator company.

Dr. Weisman received a B.A. from the University of Maryland and his M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and a post-graduate fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.​​​

Mr. Bailliard has extensive experience developing go-to-market strategies for disruptive technologies, building high performing teams, overcoming barriers to adoption and growing businesses in the medical device market.Mr. Bailliard has held a variety of key leadership roles in both public and private multi-national innovative companies. A Mechanical Engineer by training, he started his career designing medical devices at Genzyme Surgical and then transitioned to GE Healthcare in a Leadership Training program. While at GE, Mr. Bailliard held various sales and management positions ultimately becoming responsible for Americas X-ray Sales operations where he restored double-digit growth. Mr. Bailliard then joined a privately-held company launching an innovative imaging product in the breast cancer market, Naviscan Inc., serving as Executive Vice President Global Sales and Marketing. Mr. Bailliard then was appointed President of Mauna Kea Technologies Inc. where he was responsible for developing and growing a business introducing a disruptive imaging technology in gastroenterology, pulmonology and surgery.

Mr. Bailliard holds an Executive MBA from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Haim Melman has accumulated more than 30 years of experience in the high-tech healthcare space leading teams in developing and launching innovative products.

Most recently, Mr. Melman was the Vice President of R&D and Chief Operating Officer at Deep Breeze, a privately-held company developing respiratory diagnostics and home-monitoring systems. Prior to that, Mr. Melman was Vice President of R&D at Spectrum Dynamics where they developed and commercialized the first successful CZT-based medical nuclear camera. Mr. Melman was also Vice President of R&D at Orex Computed Radiology Ltd. developing CR medical systems. For 15 years prior, Mr. Melman was Director of R&D at Scitex Corporation during where he developed scanners and digital cameras. Mr. Melman also developed digital angiography systems at Elscint, Ltd. In addition, he co-founded and managed InfoBit Ltd. and JetPic Inc., two start-up companies specializing in software solutions for knowledge management and marketing tools.

Mr. Melman is the author or co-author of 30 patents and patent applications. He holds a M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, and is a graduate of the Lahav Senior Management Course at the Recanati School of Management, Tel Aviv University. Mr. Melman also served as a pilot in the Israeli Air Force.​​​
