Dr. Nichtberger is a cardiologist and serial entrepreneur with 25 years of healthcare industry experience focused on developing and commercializing breakthrough medical advances. He is currently CEO, President and co-founder of Cabaletta Bio. Most recently, he served as managing partner of GBF Advisors, LLC investing and providing advisory services to healthcare companies, investment funds, and leading academic scientists.

As an adjunct professor at the Wharton School, he leads the Vagelos Life Sciences & Management capstone course on healthcare company formation, financing and leadership.From 2004 – 2011, he was the CEO of Tengion, advancing novel regenerative medicine products from early stage research to late stage clinical trials. During his tenure, the company raised $230MM including an IPO, venture funding, and strategic investments from J&J and Medtronic.

Previously, Dr. Nichtberger held senior strategic and operating roles at Merck including as head of global marketing where he was instrumental in several corporate licensing, divestiture, and product acquisition projects.

From 1984 until 2006, Dr. Nichtberger founded and led a profitable, private company that licensed intellectual property in the field of internet-based paperless couponing. In 2008, Dr. Nichtberger was honored with the prestigious National Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Emerging Company Category.

Ryan Drant is the Founder and Managing Partner of Questa Capital, a healthcare-focused venture growth equity investment firm. From 1996 through 2015 Ryan was a partner at New Enterprise Associates, where he served as a general partner, Head of Healthcare Investing and a member of the NEA Management Committee. Prior to NEA, he worked in the corporate finance group at Alex. Brown & Sons and was a consultant at Arthur Andersen & Co. He represents Questa on the board of directors of ControlRad, Cortica, Dispatch Health, Eximis Surgical, Intrinsic Therapeutics and Medrio. He has previously served on the boards of more than 30 private companies including Epix Therapeutics, Cartiva, NeoTract, Radiology Partners, DSI Renal, Ulthera, Acclarent, Proxima Therapeutics and FoxHollow Technologies. Ryan also serves on the board of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and is a four-time nominee to the Forbes Midas List of top venture capital investors. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Stanford University.

Mr. Mirabella has more than 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry leading product development, service, marketing, sales and global business teams. Mr. Mirabella joined GE Healthcare in the emerging CT business in 1976 where he held a variety of engineering and product marketing management positions. Mr. Mirabella went on to lead the GE Global Ultrasound, CT and MR Businesses. He was then promoted to Vice President & General Manager – Americas Sales & Marketing and then to President and CEO of the Americas. Mr. Mirabella went on to run a newly formed comprehensive GE Healthcare Services business and then ultimately was promoted to President and CEO of Global Diagnostic Imaging which he held until he retired from GE. He later joined Naviscan, Inc. as an Investor, Chairman and CEO which was sold in November 2013. Mr. Mirabella is currently involved in private equity and healthcare consulting through Paul J. Mirabella Investments and Consulting, LLC.

Mr. Mirabella graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mechanics. While working in the aerospace business for McDonnell Douglas and Martin Marietta, Mr. Mirabella earned a Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Central Florida and holds four patents in GE’s CT imaging business.​​

Mr. Patrick has over 35 years of successful leadership experience in the medical device industry. From his co-founding of the company in 2005 until its sale in 2018, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Cartiva, Inc., a medical device company focused on the treatment of osteoarthritis of the extremities.  The company was acquired by Wright Medical in October for $435 million.

Prior to founding Cartiva, Mr. Patrick was President and CEO of Proxima Therapeutics, Inc., a medical device company that developed and marketed innovative local radiation delivery systems for the treatment of cancerous tumors. Proxima was acquired by Cytyc Corporation in March 2005 for approximately $187 million.

Prior to co-founding Proxima Therapeutics, he was President of Gesco International and prior to that, ran two high-growth divisions for McGaw Inc., an oncology drug provider. He also held a number of sales and sales management positions at American Hospital Supply. He has served on the Board of Directors of ADVAMED, the Georgia Tech Coulter Grant Committee, Georgia Bio and was a member of the Directors Circle at Yerkes National Primate Research Center. He is an inventor on numerous patents related to orthopedic implants, automated drug delivery systems and localized radiation delivery systems. Mr. Patrick earned his BA in Zoology from Miami University in Ohio.

Mr. Bailliard has extensive experience developing go-to-market strategies for disruptive technologies, building high performing teams, overcoming barriers to adoption and growing businesses in the medical device market.Mr. Bailliard has held a variety of key leadership roles in both public and private multi-national innovative companies. A Mechanical Engineer by training, he started his career designing medical devices at Genzyme Surgical and then transitioned to GE Healthcare in a Leadership Training program. While at GE, Mr. Bailliard held various sales and management positions ultimately becoming responsible for Americas X-ray Sales operations where he restored double-digit growth. Mr. Bailliard then joined a privately-held company launching an innovative imaging product in the breast cancer market, Naviscan Inc., serving as Executive Vice President Global Sales and Marketing. Mr. Bailliard then was appointed President of Mauna Kea Technologies Inc. where he was responsible for developing and growing a business introducing a disruptive imaging technology in gastroenterology, pulmonology and surgery.

Mr. Bailliard holds an Executive MBA from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
